Regulatory Affairs Officer



Job Purpose

Responsible for Legal compliance of formulations, labelling and artworks in specific markets across MPMs product portfolio.

This role deals with a wide variety of work tasks including, but not limited to the following:


  • Regulatory approvals of all product artworks and supporting documents
  • Update Head of Technical and wider business on changes to regulatory landscapes
  • Follow relevant market regulatory frameworks when applied to MPM’s strategy, products and comms.
  • Applying regulatory rules to product data such as AAFCO, FEDIAF, Green dot, China, Australia etc.
  • Accountable for the Regulatory translation or request of translations for artwork purposes
  • Map the MPM regulatory framework and keep updated
  • Own the relationship with outsourced regulatory partners
  • Ownership of license renewals – co-ordination of timings etc. and ensuring completed to on time in full
  • Completion and ownership of registration documents for all countries. Using resource internally or externally e.g. Certificate of Free Sale, COAs
  • Drive projects forward through to completion in a timely manner


  • Support and attend all relevant NPD/EPD and initiative calls
  • Complete and validate recipes and Pack Claims for each product/region
  • Support Product and Brand by providing outlines and templates for packaging and comms which comply with the relevant market
  • Liaise with 3rdparty agencies and support personnel to ensure compliance
  • Review concept and final artwork to advise on compliance with the required framework to agreed timelines
  • Support brand team in validating on line/website claims in specific markets
  • Support internal personnel to ensure compliance
  • Flexible to work within all technical functions


  • Investigate and make recommendations to support compliant entry into new markets. Adapt to changes to existing markets and document accordingly
  • Best practices and Ways of Working with our factories to ensure compliance and are responsive to our requests


  • Attention to detail in all documentation requested, created and approved
  • Cross-functional training and coaching on relevant frameworks



  • IT literate – use of Microsoft applications – full training will be given on in house systems
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory bodies g, AAFCO, FEDIAF, Chamber of Commerce
  • Experience of influencing without authority and indirectly, cross functionally
  • 1 years experience of working within regulatory function across any global markets. Ideally within Pet Care, but any FMCG is acceptable
  • Attention to detail – ensures accurate delivery of information and collateral in a timely and effective manner
  • Team Player – Comfortable working both individually and as part of a team
  • Organizational skills – ability to organize yourself and your tasks to meet the demands of the business.
  • Effective communicator – excellent communication skills are required
  • Time management – uses time effectively to manage a busy workload


  • Educated to Degree level within a Food or science discipline
  • Proficient in presentation skills for both external & internal business meetings
  • Good understanding or experience of the Pet Food Industry and Pet Food legislation within Europe
