Job Purpose
Responsible for leading the customer-facing supply chain function, acting as the primary interface between key retail customers and MPM’s end-to-end supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
This role deals with a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to the following:
- Build best-in-class operational relationships and service with key retail customers
- Serve as the primary escalation point for all customer supply chain issues
- Work closely with Sales & NPD to help manage cost and efficiency while maintaining best-in-class service levels
- Build out processes and recommend resources that will support MPM’s growth initiatives
- Ensure customer-specific operational needs are understood across MPM stakeholders
- Maintain strategic inventory allocations to optimize retail availability across customers
- Drive performance across key metrics such as OTIF, compliance, cost to serve, and more
- Run continuous improvement initiatives for each key retailer and work collaboratively to execute win-win solutions
- Ensure customers maintain adequate retail inventory availability and overall days of supply – specifically for new and strategic items
- Work directly with customers and internal teams to execute new product launches and planogram resets
- Manage all product transitions and end-of-life runouts to minimize write-offs while maintaining retail availability
- Serve as the project lead for all promotional activities including co-packer displays and secondary placements
- Closely monitor inventory turns, especially for new product launches, and ensure MPM forecasts reflect point-of-sale data
- Provide corrective action for customer fill-rate and in-stock reporting
- Build and maintain a dashboard to track relevant customer service and performance metrics
- Other assignments as required within the role
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- 10+ years experience in supply chain within CPG, retail, or distribution environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Supply Chain, or similar field
- Strong overall business acumen with an understanding of end-to-end supply chains and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated experience working with major retail customers (e.g., Amazon, Specialty, and big-box retail)
- Great interpersonal skills to form and maintain strategic relationships across functions, organizations, and levels
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with customers and key stakeholders within the business, including the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to understand complicated data sets and drive meaningful change
- Strong problem-solving skills and a history of using them in a fast-paced enviroment
- Desire to work autonomously with the ambition to own and consistently improve processes
