Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

Ownership

This role deals with a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to the following:

  • Own category and internal business data support for Amazon and Chewy, serving as the subject matter expert for Online channel performance.
  • Translate category and internal business data into actionable insights that drive business decisions
  • Develop and present compelling, insight-driven stories for customer meetings, influencing assortment, pricing, and promotional strategy in partnership with channel leads
  • Competitor & Category monitoring and assessment to identify opportunities for further growth and/or acceleration of MPM business.
  • Partner with internal teams to evaluate & identify whitespace opportunities, assortment gaps, included but not limited to size expansions, new formats, flavors, etc.
  • Continuous review of Pure Player impact to total Category and share to broader team and globally where appropriate
  • Maintain and evolve weekly/monthly reporting, ensuring insights are clear, concise, and actionable.
  • Develop and maintain robust new item tracking and performance against category, internal assortment, and share learning to further develop impactful, growth driving assortment
  • Champion best practices storytelling, data usage, and insight generation across the Online channel.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of data from third-party providers.
  • Take initiative in identifying new tools, methodologies, and opportunities to improve eCommerce performance

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal skills – Ability to demonstrate sales capability, knowledge and understanding of the business, products, and people.
  • Ability to present effectively to retail accounts, and sales reps with excellent communication skills.
  • Effective relationship builder – working collaboratively with accounts and MPM stakeholders is a key part of the role.

Essential

  • 5+ years experience in Category Management, eCommerce Analytics, or Commercial Insights within CPG or related industry.
  • Strong experience with Amazon and/or Chewy ecosystems.
  • Proficiency with Stackline, Profitero or equivalent eCommerce data platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, self-starter with strong ownership mentality.
  • Ability to synthesize and provide most relevant information for executive leadership

Desirable

  • Experience with Nielsen and Numerator data platforms.
  • Experience working closely with Sales teams and in customer-facing roles.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment Passion, knowledge and experience within the pet industry is preferred
